NL Verzuim is far from a traditional occupational health service. As a modern absenteeism support provider and organizer of absence-related training, NL Verzuim takes a different approach – more personal, more effective, and with greater focus on practical application. That same philosophy applies to their training programs. Because learning doesn’t stop when the training ends – that’s when it really begins.
Absence is as varied as the people experiencing it. No two situations are alike. That’s why NL Verzuim offers practical trainings on topics such as absence guidance, the Dutch “Wet verbetering Poortwachter” (Gatekeeper Improvement Act), sustainable employability, and more. These trainings are aimed at supervisors and HR professionals, always with a focus on directly applicable knowledge.
However, the challenge with training is that newly acquired knowledge fades quickly. To prevent that, NL Verzuim searched for a way to make knowledge stick – and found the answer in microlearning via LesLinq.
“Often, people leave a training session with their heads full of new information. But that knowledge fades quickly. That’s why we chose spaced learning through microlearning. Repetition trains the brain to retrieve information from long-term memory, which helps the material stick,” says Marcus Leguijt, Registered Absence Case Manager at NL Verzuim.

Now, for every training session, NL Verzuim creates short, interactive microlearnings using LesLinq. These are sent to participants after the training via email or SMS. Participants can review key insights in an easy and engaging way, on their own time. This approach aligns perfectly with the well-known Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve: without repetition, knowledge fades quickly – with repetition, it stays.
LesLinq is also used as a complement to their software packages RegieActief and FitTerug. Instead of long pieces of text, sick employees and supervisors receive instructional videos with clear explanations.
The first microlearning NL Verzuim developed focused on conducting effective conversations about frequent absenteeism. A critical topic, as poor absence management can have serious consequences for both employer and employee. In collaboration with the LesLinq studio, the microlearning was built using interactive elements, questions, and visual support.
“The interactive elements in LesLinq make the microlearning fun to complete and help keep participants actively engaged. That results in even better retention of knowledge.”
An additional benefit? NL Verzuim can see exactly who has completed the microlearning – and who hasn’t. This enables targeted follow-up to ensure the knowledge really sinks in across the board.
“We’re super enthusiastic about the possibilities LesLinq offers. We can now easily create fun, interactive training that truly has an impact.”
Thanks to LesLinq, NL Verzuim enhances its training programs with smart repetition, greater engagement, and improved learning outcomes. Employees learn at their own pace, through a channel that suits them – and the knowledge truly sticks.

]]>On March 22, 2025, Portlantis opened its doors: a brand-new, interactive experience center at Maasvlakte 2. Visitors of all ages can discover the Port of Rotterdam in a surprising and inspiring way.
EIC Mainport Rotterdam Foundation,
EIC Mainport Rotterdam Foundation, an expert in port education for many years, has its own dedicated space in Portlantis and has developed educational programs. Together with the studio of LesLinq (Grafi Offshore BV), EIC Mainport Rotterdam Foundation created digital, interactive teaching materials for primary school groups 6, 7, and 8, as well as for secondary and vocational education (MBO).
The port education program begins in group 6 and continues through secondary school and vocational education. Each lesson consists of a preparatory interactive whiteboard lesson in the classroom and an excursion to Portlantis. The digital whiteboard lessons were developed in LesLinq and include interactive elements, quiz questions, and visual explanations. A separate lesson and teacher guide are available for each level.
“We’re very proud of the final result. It turned out exactly as we had hoped,” says Lisette Roselaar, educational staff member at EIC Mainport Rotterdam Foundation.
“In the group 6 lesson, students learn about different types of ships and their cargo. A game was developed in LesLinq where students can move around and apply what they’ve learned,” Lisette explains. “Thanks to the clear digital whiteboard lessons and the accompanying teacher guides, all of our lessons can be taught easily by teachers with just a short preparation.”
The lessons aim to spark enthusiasm, recognition, and curiosity. And it works: “The feedback we’ve received from schools has been very positive.”
The result is teaching material that motivates students, supports teachers, and matches the level and experience of each age group. And it contributes to the real goal: making young people aware of the opportunities in the port and exciting them about a future in this dynamic sector.
“With this teaching material, we aim to create awareness and generate enthusiasm for a future in the port.”
We welcome many schools from the Rijnmond region. But schools from other parts of the Netherlands – and even from abroad – have now also found their way to Portlantis.
“In the past two weeks, we’ve already received 1,200 students,” Lisette shares. “We expect to welcome between 20,000 and 25,000 students per year.”

LesLinq is perfectly suited for creating accessible, interactive learning materials. Curious about the possibilities? Get in touch with us — we’re happy to think along with you.

]]>CRH is a global leader in building materials and construction solutions, with thousands of employees across 28 countries. In the Netherlands, CRH includes companies like Calduran, Dycore and Heembeton – key suppliers of building components such as sand-lime bricks, wall, and floor systems. Safety is a top priority for these companies.
Dirjohn Vos, HSE Manager at Calduran, Dycore, and Heembeton, was looking for an innovative way to make gate instructions, toolbox talks, and safety instructions more efficient and effective. He found that solution in LesLinq.
Previously, a truck driver would report at the gate and watch an introductory video in a small room. Did they actually absorb the information? Hopefully…
With LesLinq, the process has changed:
This new method not only saves time but also makes the process more effective and measurable.

“LesLinq doesn’t just save time – it actually works. People enjoy it, actively participate, and follow the instructions properly. They even proudly show up with their certificate! And we always have a clear overview of who completed what.” – Dirjohn Vos, HSE Manager at Calduran, Dycore & Heembeton
Calduran, Dycore & Heembeton work with many non-native speakers, which can easily lead to miscommunication – especially with safety instructions. LesLinq solves this with automatic translation and text-to-speech.
“Voor veel medewerkers is Engels een tweede of derde taal, waardoor veiligheidsinstructies niet altijd goed overkomen. LesLinq vertaalt automatisch en maakt instructies toegankelijker dan ooit. De kans dat de instructie wordt begrepen is veel groter.”
LesLinq also offers great potential for Toolbox meetings. Previously, these were delivered in person – often accompanied by piles of paperwork and inconsistent quality in delivery. With LesLinq, that has changed:
“I’d say we save at least 50% of the time we used to spend on admin. Plus, we can now offer small updates throughout the year instead of just one big training. Best of all? People actually like learning this way.”
Calduran, Dycore, and Heembeton are seeing more ways to use LesLinq. In addition to gate and toolbox instructions, the platform is now also used for a safety campaign for transporters about mobile phone use in traffic.
“Instead of handing out leaflets, we now do it digitally. It’s far more effective and saves costs.”
The benefits of working with LesLinq?
“LesLinq is truly innovative. It’s accessible, the instructions are easy to follow, and the content is nicely varied with videos. Nobody minds doing it – everyone’s enthusiastic. One of the best things about LesLinq is its flexibility. It’s an open canvas – anything is possible. With most software, you hear that everything is possible during the sales pitch, but once you start using it, you run into limitations and any changes come at a cost. With LesLinq, there are no surprises. It offers a wide range of features and flexibility. The collaboration with the LesLinq team is also excellent – everyone is committed to making it a success.”

]]>Fort Buitensluis is a historical monument located in the Hoeksche Waard, beautifully situated on the Hollandsch Diep. The Fort’s history dates back to 1793, when the first foundations were laid. Its purpose was to prevent enemy troops from crossing the Hollandsch Diep. Today, the Fort is not only a monument but also an accessible destination for anyone curious about the rich Dutch history.
The Fort Buitensluis Foundation manages this beautiful piece of heritage and aims to make its rich history accessible to a broad audience. Thanks to funding from the Cultural Fund and the Ambachtsheerlijkheid Cromstrijen Foundation, investment in (digital) signage became possible. But how do you make history truly fun and interactive? That’s where LesLinq came in!
The board of the Fort Buitensluis Foundation wanted to find an engaging and interactive way to inform visitors about the Fort. LesLinq provided the perfect solution. With LesLinq’s Content Creation Tool, text, images, video, audio, and questions could be creatively combined. This gave visitors an engaging and dynamic way to learn about the Fort’s history.
Nick van der Velden from Staalbaas created beautiful corten steel information pillars. On these, aluminum plates with information and a QR code were mounted. When you scan the QR code, the interactive content created with LesLinq opens. The LesLinq studio helped design this digital experience — and the result speaks for itself!
The (digital) signage has been a great success. Visitors are enthusiastic, and the Fort Buitensluis board is very pleased. Carin van den Berg, board member of the Foundation, explains:
“On open days, visitors can join guided tours and learn about the Fort’s history. But that only reaches a limited group. Thanks to the information signs with QR codes linking to digital content, we can now also reach self-guided visitors and inform them about the history of the gunpowder magazines, ammunition storage, shelters from World War I and II, and more.”
Carin continues:
“LesLinq offers so many possibilities to present information in a fun, interactive way. The LesLinq studio helped us design and create templates. One of LesLinq’s great features is the smart templating function, which allows us to save and reuse interactive elements. This makes it easier and faster to create new object descriptions. Due to time constraints, we haven’t yet explored all the features of LesLinq’s Content Creation Tool. What we’ve created so far is great, but with LesLinq, it can become even better. Fortunately, we can easily update and publish content in LesLinq, so we’ll continue working on that in the coming months. We’re very happy we chose LesLinq!”
Fort Buitensluis is a wonderful example of how historical heritage can be made accessible and appealing to a wide audience using modern technology. Thanks to the collaboration with LesLinq, the Fort’s rich history can now be experienced in an interactive and engaging way — a success story we’re proud of!

This led to the decision to develop their own Digital Literacy curriculum.
During IPON, Ambion connected with LesLinq and found it perfectly suited to their needs. LesLinq’s platform allows Ambion to share materials with its schools seamlessly, making it an ideal partner. Consequently, Ambion decided to proceed with LesLinq.
A training day introduced the comprehensive features of LesLinq, followed by the creation of a demo showcasing interactive elements, buttons, and quizzes. This demonstration excited Ambion’s leadership about LesLinq’s potential.
Stef Heeling, ICT Program Manager at Stichting Ambion, praises LesLinq: “Once you get to know LesLinq, you discover more possibilities. It offers all the tools to build a great customized website. I’m very satisfied with LesLinq.” Heeling also appreciates the collaboration, stating, “It’s great to work with a partner who thinks along and maintains short communication lines.”
The new Digital Literacy curriculum will launch after the summer of 2025, giving Ambion ample time to refine the program and optimize integration with their Apple environment. The LesLinq team will continue to provide support and innovative ideas throughout this process.

With well-known brands like PERSPECTIEF, SmartRekenen, SmartWiskunde, BRICKS, SYMBIOSE, and Kiem, EduHint offers high-quality blended learning materials combining books and an intelligent learning platform, enabling personalized education tailored to individual student needs.
In today’s education, differentiated instruction is crucial. EduHint ensures teachers can effectively use the online learning platform to monitor student progress. To achieve this, EduHint focuses on teacher onboarding, especially at the start of the school year. A dedicated online “Help with Ordering” page allows teachers to easily order the correct teaching materials through various channels.
A pivotal step in the onboarding process is EduStart, a guide that actively involves teachers in using the online learning platform. EduStart, built with LesLinq’s functionalities, introduces teachers interactively to the digital components of a teaching method, ensuring optimal use in lessons. The result is a user-friendly and engaging guide where users actively participate.
The results are impressive: EduHint’s annual customer satisfaction survey (KTO) shows significant increases in support team ratings and the onboarding process. The support team rating rose from 8.2 to 8.7, and the purchasing and onboarding process rating improved from 7.2 to 7.6. These excellent scores are partly due to the online onboarding provided by EduStart.
Marijn van den Berg, Head of Marketing, Sales & Services at EduHint, reflects positively on the collaboration and results. “Initially, we were hesitant about digital instruction, believing that onsite onboarding was better. However, the clear digital guidance not only eased the support department’s burden but also increased customer satisfaction. Teachers are now helped faster and more efficiently, exactly what we aimed to achieve.” With the project completed on time and the flexibility and speed of implementing changes, Marijn looks back on a successful project and a fruitful collaboration with LesLinq.

]]>Digital literacy, media literacy, computational thinking… A child who understands how digital technologies work is better prepared for the future.
The average elementary school teacher does not immediately get happy when he has to explain to students how software works or how a computer works. Fortunately, De Programmeerschool can help.
We asked Kristel van Reenen, co-owner of De Programmeerschool about the activities of De Programmeerschool, the creation of knowledge modules and the experience with LesLinq as a tool for creating interactive content. Do you also want to create good, interactive learning modules? Then read on quickly.
“The specialized teachers and IT professionals of De Programmeerschool teach children basic knowledge and skills about digital technologies and teach them real programming. Schools hire us for a lesson package of their choice. During the lessons, we teach students basic knowledge and try to get them to look and think in a different way: computational thinking. That includes thinking abstractly and describing exactly what you want.”
“Lessons consist of knowledge transfer combined with practical exercises. Knowledge transfer includes answering questions like:
In the practical part, students do all kinds of exercises. For example, they learn to program ‘putting on a coat’. Or they have to describe to someone else the appearance of a cat in as much detail as possible. Children learn to program in Scratch. That works very simply with colored cubes.”
“We use LesLinq to create the knowledge modules. A knowledge module explains 1 separate topic. For example, there are knowledge modules on ‘Computer Words’ or ‘How Software Works,’ as well as ‘Hacking’ and ‘Encryption.’ For each topic, we create an interactive lesson in LesLinq.”
“Students don’t read anymore. So you have to put interactive elements into your teaching materials. That can be done very well with LesLinq. It is especially great that we can incorporate videos into the LesLinq projects. Many elementary school have no access to YouTube.
Another big advantage is that a project created in LesLinq always works and works the same everywhere. This is very different from working with PowerPoint or Google Slides, for example. The certainty that videos always work everywhere is also very nice.
In addition, it is nice that LesLinq is not too big and complicated. Many systems have an LMS linked to it, which makes it very bulky. The nice thing about LesLinq is that it is not too extensive. You have to take the time to get to know the system in the beginning, but once you do, it works very well. LesLinq is ideal for people who need to create a lot of teaching materials. It combines the power of online with the power of a presentation tool.”
